Chocolate Mousse

Well, it seems this blog is a bit like a 159 bus… nothing for ages and then 3 come along at once! We’ve been quite busy recently, moving apartment and working amongst other things. So we decided to take a break and get the bus to Chascomús for a weekend…

Chascomús is about an hour and a half bus ride south east of Buenos Aires. Its a small town on the edge of a lagoon which we’re told is beautiful in summer. In winter however its a bit like going to Bognor Regis out of season… We were unlucky with the weather (as you’ll see from the pics) but in fact it was great fun and the rain didnt stop us (much) from exploring. We did stick out a bit though and 3 separate people asked us why we were there which was amusing. We did ask ourselves the same question at one point when it was bucketing down with rain and EVERYTHING was shut, but we entertained ourselves with taking pictures and watching firemen practise their hose control (which was of course the highlight of the weekend for me)!!!

(Note from Bert: It’s Tania that likes firemen, although obviously I have a great deal of respect for them on a professional level).
